Carver Johnson earned a B.A. degree from the University of the District of Columbia with a major in Mathematics and an M.S. degree from American University. Currently, he is the Group Vice President at the Kroger company located in Cincinnati.

Carver talks about his experiences growing up, getting higher education, his mentors and his community service. He discusses about the progress made and the issues being faced by the the African American community today. He talks about the need for strong foundation of education and family network for the advancement.

Flordia native Carver L. Johnson, has worked for the Kroger Company since 1999 as a Group Vice President of Management Information Systems. Since June 22nd, 2006, Johnson has served as Kroger's first chief diversity officer.

Johnson is quite involved in many organizations in the Cincinnati community. Johnson serves as a board member of Wilberforce University and Jobs for Cincinnati Graduates (JCG). He also serves as a youth mentor through the Cincinnati Youth Collaborative.

According to the Lighthouse Youth Services 2005 Annual report, their mission is to advance the dignity and well being of children, youth and families. They encourage good citizenship, responsible behavior and self-reliance. The report also lists diversity as a key value and states that our differences strengthen us.  This is an ideal that Carver Johnson has embraced in hope his volunteer and professional life.  So, for all you sports fans out there looking to broaden your athletic horizons, take a look at footy, before you know it you’ll be planning your trip to Australia to catch the AFL finals, tip back a few Fosters and fight a croc or two.
